Credit Hire File Handler - Pre-Litigated (Hybrid Role)

The Role:

We are looking for a Credit Hire File Handler who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and has a strong understanding of credit hire. In this role, you will be responsible for the tactical and strategic handling of complex credit hire claims, carrying out in-depth investigations on files submitted by specific opponents. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your experience in the credit hire field and contribute to reducing overall insurer spend.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Independently manage a caseload of pre-litigated credit hire claims (up to £25,000 in value)
2. Follow pre-agreed strategies and maintain compliance with internal workflows
3. Engage in telephone negotiations with third parties and solicitors
4. Review and analyse evidence, assessing the liability and quantum of claims
5. Liaise with clients and colleagues in a professional and efficient manner
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records using a Case Management System

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
35 hours per week
Hybrid model - 1 day in-office, 4 days from home

What We're Looking For:

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

1. Experience handling Credit Hire files and managing your own caseload
2. Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - a degree or LPC is desirable
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational ability
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and ideally, experience using a Case Management System
6. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
7. Demonstrated use of initiative and tact in sensitive situations
8. At least 12 months' experience in a credit hire environment is essential

Technical Knowledge To Be Developed:

1. Pre-proceedings credit hire knowledge
2. Full file lifecycle management
3. Common law and litigation principles
4. Understanding of legal costs and protective offers
5. Preparing a file for litigation
