This role focuses on supporting participants in their journey towards training and employment, providing guidance, and advocating for second chances. You will collaborate with various partner organizations to identify opportunities and help individuals overcome barriers. You don’t need direct experience in this field—just the right attitude, transferable skills, or lived experience that gives you insight into the challenges people face after a conviction.
At Apex Scotland, we work with individuals who have been involved in the justice system, supporting them to build brighter futures. From helping people find work or boosting their confidence and motivation, we’re here to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical solutions. On the Way Ahead service, you will work alongside our partners Wheatley Foundation, Move On, SAMH, Street Soccer Scotland & GECCO to identify relevant opportunities and ensure a smooth transition into training, education and employment.
This role is ideal for anyone with experience in guiding, supporting, or working with others—whether through professional roles or personal lived experience—who wants to apply their skills in a new and meaningful way.
You will operate Glasgow wide and are required to be mobile and operate in an outreach manner, with means of access to regular travel and movement throughout the area.
This post is funded by Glasgow City Council until end of March 26 with potential for extension.
Membership of the Prevention of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required.
