We have an exciting opportunity for an additional staff member and for a practice nurse to join our friendly team of forward-thinking General Practice Staff.

The candidate MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITHIN GENERAL PRACTICE AS A GP PRACTICE NURSE.

Nurses looking for an improvement in their salary and at earlier stages of training are welcome to apply.

Completed training in vaccinations and cervical smears is essential, with additional skills in chronic disease management an advantage.

Diabetes enhanced management and travel vaccinations would also be advantageous.

We are a high-performing practice with high QOF achievement and rated CQC Good in all areas. The role allows part-time working and has some flexibility in the hours worked, allowing the candidate to maintain an effective work-life balance.

Hours can be discussed, but we are aiming for around 24 hours per week or over, although this can be increased or decreased by mutual agreement/discussion.

SALARY: Competitive and open to negotiation, ranging from £25 to £30 per hour plus pension, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a practice nurse within a practice with experience of General Practice, particularly able to undertake immunisations and smears, along with other standard duties of a practice nurse from day one.

About us

We are a rapidly expanding practice but still smaller than many. This allows for a supportive, friendly, team-based atmosphere and an opportunity for the right candidate to combine an interesting professional career with their own outside interests while maintaining a good work-life balance. Continuing professional development will be supported. The hours are flexible with an obvious need to meet the needs of the practice and patients. The job is for the main practice nurse on site, although it can be shared if needed.

Job responsibilities

The position advertised will involve undertaking all the standard duties of a practice nurse. Training can be arranged. This includes cervical smears, immunisations (both adult/child), travel, and chronic disease management among other standard duties. The exact details can be tailored to some extent to the candidate, although the ability to undertake smears and immunisations is helpful.
