The successful candidate would ideally have:

  1. Previous experience of working in a GP Practice; however, as training will be available, this is not essential.
  2. Good I.T. skills – knowledge of SystmOne is an advantage.
  3. An understanding of QOF, CQC, and enhanced services.
  4. The ability to work well with our other Practice Nurses, including sharing work hours and internal cover during periods of leave.

Typical responsibilities may include:

  1. Patient consultations within the surgery including new patient and NHS Health Checks.
  2. Cervical smear tests.
  3. Chronic disease management: including COPD, diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
  4. Performing spirometry tests and ECGs.
  5. Providing advice about contraception and fitting contraceptive devices.
