We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly, supportive Practice Manager to join our leadership team and work alongside our Clinical Director and Nantwich Practice Manager.
Your New Role
Responsibilities include preparing the monthly payroll, covering holidays, overtime, company sick pay, and SSP payments, as well as managing diary schedules and building health and safety. You'll oversee facilities and equipment, arranging necessary repairs, and manage the group debt protocols within the practice. Additionally, you will identify and monitor turnover, expenditure, and other performance trends, contribute to the annual pay review and staff cost budget process, and conduct appraisals and performance management for all non-clinical and rehabilitation staff. Collaboration with the Operations team to discuss, plan, and promote practice events such as Pet Health Plans, career days, discounts, and bundles will be key, along with coordinating all client complaints.

Leonard Brothers is a three-site small animal first opinion practice located in North Shropshire/Cheshire. Our modern facilities and fantastic team make for a supportive and welcoming environment. As a training practice, we offer ample support to help new staff integrate and gain experience.
We have a team of 12 vets, most of whom work part-time, taking advantage of our flexible rota pattern. Our experienced nursing and support team includes certificate holders in cardiology, medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology, as well as a diploma holder in general anaesthesia, providing an excellent environment for skill development. Additionally, two of our vets are currently pursuing certificates. Our team gathers every two months for a meal and clinical discussion, fostering a strong social connection within the practice and with local referral practices.
This role is primarily based at our Whitchurch branch, but you will also participate in meetings at our Nantwich and Wistaston branches.
What We’re Looking For in You
We are looking for someone with the ability to understand key financial KPIs and implement effective responses to performance issues, including a solid grasp of P&L. A full driving licence is essential, as this role involves regular travel between branches and to external meetings. Strong people skills are crucial, enabling confident communication with staff, clients, and external contractors. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to drive and motivate the team to achieve results, while also demonstrating excellent time management skills and flexibility to meet business needs.
A work-life balance to suit you
This part-time role consists of 30 hours per week, with a shift pattern of 9 am to 5 pm, four days a week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
