Could you use your nursing skills and experience to support the NHS to deliver great patient care? Great patient care needs great people to support clinical teams. That’s where you come in.
The NHS is changing. More emphasis on community-based care means there’s never been a better time to join us.
We are recruiting 2 enthusiastic and organised Practice Development Nurses who will promote excellence in clinical practice, provide a visible presence and strong professional leadership across our community hospital teams.
You will foster an environment which values education as part of the philosophy of the practice area. Co-ordinate, facilitate and teach clinical educational activities for registered and non-registered Nursing staff within the designated practice areas to standardise and maintain a high standard of clinical competence across the workforce. This includes working alongside Matrons and Operational leads to support the ongoing development of management and leadership skills across the teams at all levels.
Working closely with operational team leads, you will identify gaps in clinical skills and knowledge in defined areas. This will include proactively supporting any learning from patient safety incidents and actions from complaints to improve standards and provide evidence and assurance regarding outcomes and devise appropriate training and support to meet the identified learning and professional development across the service.
You will be a clinically credible practitioner able to work autonomously and with a team, teaching and demonstrating technical clinical skills and assessing competencies within clinical practice. You will work with colleagues both at their bases and across the locality.
Drawing on your own clinical expertise, you will support others to become confident and capable practitioners. Through educational and improved clinical practice, your aim will be to improve the patient experience and quality of care standards across clinical areas.
You will be required to maintain and keep up to date with clinical skills, current developments in research and nursing practice, utilising evidence practice and aligning with professional standards, trust policy and agreed competency framework.
