Job description

PPM Suppression Engineer - Fire

Inside IR35

£28 per hour including holiday pay

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, the PPM Engineer will undertake planned maintenance activities on a wide range of fire assets under the 1FM Fire contract mainly within the London Underground environment. You’ll be working on a permanent night Sunday to Thursday pattern and in all weather. You’ll be trusted to work autonomously and relied on to make sure you work safely at all times. You must have a driver’s license to enable you to travel between sites.

Key Deliverables
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks on a nightly basis
  • Ability to support the delivery of daily tasks in line with business expectations
  • Working as part of a team and individually depending on the task
  • Health and Safety awareness and practice
  • Monitoring of works to ensure continued compliance
  • Utilising our ServiceNow platform to update and complete visit reports
Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate site reports on completed activities to either the site SPC or your line manager
  • Responsible for completion of maintenance against defined schedule
  • Ensure maintenance is completed to required standard and report any issues
  • Complete any administration tasks in a timely manner
  • Comply with relevant QEHS requirements
  • Comply with Drug & Alcohol policy
Qualifications / Skill Requirements
  • Familiarity with local, national, and international fire codes, regulations, and standards such as wet/dry sprinklers, gas suppression systems, foam systems
  • Hydraulics and Fluid Dynamics: Expertise in water flow calculations and the behavior of fluids under pressure
  • Fire Suppression Systems: Understanding of various types of fire suppression systems
  • Previous experience working within the LUL or Rail environment
  • LUL training courses such as Sentinel & QAF54
