As Power Quality and Dynamic Performance Manager you’ll lead a team of Power System Engineers ensuring an efficient and effective management of power quality and dynamic performance issues on NGET’s transmission network. You’ll lead on the preparation and analysis of specialist power system studies necessary for demonstrating network (and customer) compliance.
Utilising the team’s specialist knowledge, you’ll anticipate the technical Power System considerations, challenges and required solutions for the NGET network (and the whole system). You’ll consider the introduction of new technology, market initiatives and changes, design policy and solutions and new customer types which will affect network planning time horizons.
You’ll proactively communicate, mitigate, manage and/or resolve challenges, (both within National Grid and with other industry experts) ahead of significant Transmission Network impact.
In addition, you’ll represent NGET across the industry in all areas related to power quality and dynamic system performance.
This role is based out of our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of managing a team of power system engineers, with an in-depth understanding of power systems, power system analysis, and a good understanding of power quality and dynamic performance issues.
With the ability to identify where future network challenges are not accommodated, you’ll have experience of setting and controlling clear scopes of technical work that lead to clearly defined strategic & business outcomes.
You’ll ideally have a good understanding of National Grid’s price control processes and relevant funding mechanisms and be able to drive strategies and approaches that lead to performance against targets.
With experience of leading professional teams and technical experts, you’ll have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally and be able to present detailed technical information in a way understandable to non-technical audiences. In addition, you’ll have experience of working with external regulatory bodies, relevant industry technical groups and customers.
Salary range - £67,000 - £85,000 depending on skills and experience
