Grade UE07: £40,497 - £48,149 per annum

CSE/School of Chemistry

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term: for 36 months

The Opportunity:

The School of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic researcher with experience in solid state materials chemistry, particularly in the synthesis and characterisation of metal oxides, to join the Attfield Research Group. This 36-month post will involve carrying out a research programme on high entropy transition metal oxides and assisting in the supervision of research students.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in materials chemistry or a related field, or will have completed PhD studies before commencement of the post.
  • Good publication record in relevant research areas.
  • Experience in high temperature synthesis of transition metal oxides or similar materials.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in training junior researchers such as new PhD and Masters research students.
