About the role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate the molecular mechanisms regulating centrosome and cilia function. This exciting project will combine our recently developed centrosome purification method with advanced proteomics and high-resolution imaging to deepen our understanding of these processes and uncover how they go awry in human diseases.

We are seeking a new colleague who balances independent thinking with a strong sense of teamwork. In this position, you will design and execute your own research project with support from the group leader, while collaborating closely with colleagues both within and beyond our team. You will have opportunities to present your findings in departmental seminars, at conferences, and through publications. Throughout your work, you will help maintain an inclusive, respectful, and sustainable research environment. This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the MRC for up to 3 years in the first instance.

The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.

About you

You will hold a PhD/DPhil or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field and be proficient in standard cell and molecular biology techniques as well as experience in proteomics. Experience with mass spectrometry and computational analysis would be advantageous. You will have excellent communication skills including the ability to write for publication and present research proposals and results, together with the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities.
