Job description

About the Role

The purpose of this post is to support the development of a Living Map of What Works to address inequalities in primary care using Eppi Reviewer software and evidence briefings for Integrated Care Systems based on the Living Map.

The project is funded by NHS England to support Integrated Care Systems; therefore, all outputs should be accessible to practitioners and health care managers.

The role is an exciting opportunity to combine reviewer skills with policy and practice impact while also learning about machine learning techniques. The successful applicant will work in the newly formed Health Equity Evidence Centre, an innovative new centre that will generate data on What Works to address health inequalities.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Living Map using Eppi Reviewer software. This will include screening titles and abstracts, drafting evidence briefings, and screening & coding full text articles as required. You will support the development of grant applications as appropriate and advise junior staff on the use of Eppi Reviewer. You will also be expected to undertake reasonable administrative and additional duties that are expected of a member of research staff.

About You

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of health and care inequalities, knowledge of theoretical frameworks, and experience of undertaking equity-focused research. You must have a PhD in a relevant area and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Candidates would also benefit from having experience of grant writing, the use of Eppi Reviewer software, and supervising research assistants.
