Positive Behaviour Support Team Leader
Ashford, Kent
Permanent, full time 37.5 hpw, 22.5 admin and 15 hours in service on shift.
Pay £13.98 per hour (£27,338 per annum) (pro rata) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan.

Join us in this great and rewarding job, as our Positive Behavioural Support Team Leader. You’ll manage our team to provide person-centred and strengths-based support to our customer (let's call them A) and help them reach their full potential. A has complex needs including communication challenges, sensory processing challenges as well as being non verbal. They are in their early 20s, and are full of energy. They enjoy a range of activities such as going to jump and spending time in the garden eating.

Typical day as our PBS Team Leader:

  1. You’ll manage a team of PBS Support Workers centred around a customer with complex presentation.
  2. You and your team will support customers with any aspect of their day-to-day living. You’ll work in a person-centred, strengths-based and psychologically informed way, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life.
  3. You’ll be in regular contact with your manager updating, escalating and reporting on all aspects of the service delivery.
  4. You’ll be responsible for planning and overseeing complex support working with customers who display behaviours of concern and may require personal care working alongside Home Group’s local multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Motivating, directing, guiding, coaching and supporting your team to work with our customers.

You have:

  1. Experience in CQC Regulated services, a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent or prepared to work towards it.
  2. Worked as a Senior Support Worker, leading support for people with complex needs, or behaviours of distress.
  3. A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to A's needs, as well as to the specific occasion and circumstances, even when they challenge us.
  4. Great people management and motivation skills, bringing colleagues together to share information, best practice and fostering creativity.
  5. Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues. Ideally got Makaton, but that’s not a deal breaker!
  6. To help A get out and about, you’ll need to be able to drive a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Job details:

  1. Work pattern- 22.5 hours in the office within the service home on admin duties and 15 hours on shift with one sleep in.
  2. Able to use technology to update create and update support plans, communicate with colleagues and complete online learning.
  3. We’ll make sure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support.
  4. You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
