Job description

Work alongside the Divisional Head to be primarily accountable for the Energy Division.

  • Location: London
  • Type: Permanent

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Role requires input into a range of classes & products in the Energy Division, including Upstream, Midstream, Renewables, Casualty and Construction, plus underwriting leadership on a cross-functional basis.
  • Responsible for the adherence to the agreed business plan and ultimately, underwriting performance, for the Energy Division.
  • To work with the Portfolio Management team to define and optimise annual plan strategy, reflective of market conditions. Alongside the Divisional Head, set underwriting appetite and take steps to ensure the Company’s portfolio is in line with said appetite to maintain a profitable portfolio.
  • Track record of Energy class level portfolio management, leading a team to build a profitable portfolio of business.
  • Track record of success in the development and execution of commercially viable strategies, with high standards of delivery in a timely, cost-effective way.
  • A commercial understanding of underwriting. Able to assimilate into strategic discussions around the structuring and management of portfolios.
  • Experience of working in the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets.
