About The Job
This role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the testing processes across our diverse portfolio of projects. The primary focus will be to ensure the introduction of high-quality portfolio testing governance, undertake QA reviews and support project and programmes in the creation of suitable test plans.
This role will involve close co-ordination with our internal and external IT partners, ensuring that a holistic test approach forms the part of all project deliveries. In addition, this role will liaise closely with operations and BAU teams, aiding service integration objectives & plans.
The role offers a chance to design & shape the testing environment for the business as a whole, it also includes the line management of 1 test analyst role.
What you’ll spend your time doing:
- Lead and inspire a team of skilled testers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence in testing practices.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive testing strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring efficient and effective testing processes for our diverse project portfolio.
- Implement and maintain robust quality assurance standards, methodologies, and best practices in a manner which aids and augments the realisation of project deliverables and business benefits.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with project timelines and requirements.
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, driving initiatives to enhance testing effectiveness and reduce time-to-market deliveries.
- Evaluate and mitigate testing-related risks, ensuring the identification and resolution of issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support the Portfolio Delivery Manager and Head of Business Change in carrying out QA reviews of projects and programmes, making recommendations on actions and mitigating steps to ensure effective project delivery.
- Co-ordinate with IT stakeholders to identify opportunities to use new technologies to automate and speed up the testing life cycle.
What skills you’ll need:
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Experience of managing and communicating complex issues to C suite stakeholders
- A strong track record of portfolio test management in financial services organisations
- Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills
