Working across our industries in an influential role, the Policy & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing our position as skills voice of industry and the shaping and management of our policy and communications priorities.
You will work closely with the Chief Executive and other internal and external senior stakeholders, navigating the complex political landscape and translating research and positioning into influence for EUS.
You will lead on all aspects of policy review and analysis related to workforce renewal and skills for the energy and utilities sector. Your policy insights and stakeholder intelligence will critically inform our strategy, positioning Energy & Utility Skills as an influential thought leader in the skills arena.
This is an exciting role that allows you to take full ownership of policy and communications activities, including building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across the UK national governments, combined authorities and their agencies.
We are looking for a Policy & Communications Manager with a deep understanding of and, ideally, a passion for the skills sector. You will be skilled at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at a senior level across government, education, and skills, ensuring our organisation’s voice is effectively amplified.
You will have extensive experience in policy development, with a strong grasp of national and devolved skills policy. Your ability to translate complex policies for stakeholders and influence within this space will be key. Additionally, you will have experience convening strategic groups to facilitate knowledge sharing, comfortably developing and incorporating stakeholder input at an internal level.
You will also have experience managing both internal and external communications, delivering effective strategic communication programmes while representing the organisation clearly and professionally. Finally, you will excel in establishing relationships with customers and colleagues, adept at building networks, delivering key messages, and fostering positive engagement.
