Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Twilight Shift Supervisor to join us at our Eurocentral Depot. We’re always on the lookout for top talent to join our growing business. In fact, we never stand still, we work hard, make quick decisions and deliver to our ambitious goals every day.

Our Day Shift is typically between Monday – Sunday, working any 5 days in 7. Shifts can start anytime from 11:00 am to 16:00 pm depending on volumes.

Job Purpose:

Our Twilight Shift Warehouse Supervisor is a key role working with our Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the day operation in our Depot, where you will lead teams of Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites into smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.

About the Role:

You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working under the Operations Manager, you will support your Depot by providing strong people management to all front-line staff on your shift.

You will supervise a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our day shifts. The Twilight Shift is key to our business as it is when we process the growing returns part of our business as well as parcels collected from our network of Parcel Shops.

We need professionals who can motivate, manage, and where necessary discipline a diverse workforce to get the best out of them. You will also talent manage and develop your team so that as promotion and more senior roles become available, you have the talent to build your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and train reports and ensure SLA’s are hit for the day shift.
  • Process MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders.
  • Manage all areas of the day parcel shop operations, sortation, and transportation in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • People Management – recruitment, induction, and ongoing engagement of Warehouse drivers, and ongoing performance and attendance management, submission of daily debrief with drivers, and weekly reports required.
  • Compliance – Legalities, Management of domestic driving hours (breaks/length of shifts/rest periods). Additional support on all driver compliance in depots.
  • Resourcing – planning of local routes to ensure effective delivery of parcels, effective utilization of rosters.

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage.
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Transport knowledge, skills, or experience including regulations.
  • Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels.
  • Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements.
