Building Engineer (PlumberMulti)

Location: Kingston-upon-Thames Salary: £32,000 - £38,600 per annum Contract: Full time, Permanent Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with overtime opportunities available. On call, 1 week in every 6-8 weeks £300, extra for call outs.

About the role:

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for performing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on-site, using the PDA and Planon system to ensure the university remains fully operational.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plumbing Maintenance: Address and resolve plumbing issues to keep all facilities functional.
  2. Mechanical Troubleshooting: Apply your mechanical expertise to diagnose and repair various systems.
  3. Technical Interpretation: Understand and interpret logic controllers and building drawings to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs.
  4. Supervision: Oversee maintenance tasks and manage contractors to ensure work is completed to high standards.
  5. Problem Solving: Tackle technical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to university operations.
  6. Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to university students and staff, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently.

Candidate Specification:

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and skilled professional, dedicated to maintaining and repairing building systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

  1. Experience: At least 5 years of maintenance experience (preferred).
  2. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  3. Communication Skills: Proficient in English for clear and effective communication.
  4. Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their maintenance.
  5. Technical Skills: Experience with logic controllers and the ability to interpret building operation and maintenance manuals (O&Ms).
  6. Independence: Capable of working independently, managing your own tasks, and completing PPMs efficiently.
  7. Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required.
