Job description

We are looking for a PLC Engineer to join the site projects and reliability engineering team at our Swindon facility. The aim of this role is to implement project upgrades ranging from minor modifications to large facility upgrades. This role is a Monday to Friday role.

The main duties of the role include:

  1. To develop strategies for rolling upgrades of plant and equipment.
  2. To project manage installation and commissioning of new equipment including HVAC, steam systems and chillers - delivering projects on time and ensuring the full business benefit is delivered.
  3. Develop and understand automation software on site particularly BMS, EMS and PLC.
  4. To monitor project status ensuring all key stakeholders are kept informed with escalation and resolution of any issues.
  5. Identify root cause faults and implement improvement of existing plant including refrigeration, steam boilers, vacuum systems, HVAC, and water treatment.
  6. Manage project budgets, engaging with all project stakeholders as required.
  7. Drive a culture of continuously identifying risks and taking action to eliminate risks or at least mitigate (if elimination not feasible).

The Candidate

  1. Degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering.
  2. Proficient level of process control skills to include some of: PLC (AB Rockwell, Siemens), SCADA systems Rockwell Historian, CAD, Trend BMS / Set, Lighthouse EMS, JDEdwards.
  3. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) experience.
  4. Proactive, methodical, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  5. Problem solver.
