Job description

Everton is a workplace people crave to join, where extraordinary talented people belong, thrive and deliver the remarkable.

Player Support Assistant - Men's First Team

Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation, professionalism and community.

During the course of a glittering history spanning three centuries, the Club has been shaped and guided by its aspirational motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - nothing but the best is good enough.

One of only three clubs to have been a founder member of both the Football League and Premier League, Everton has played more games in English football's top flight than any other club.

While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium opening in summer 2025, under our new ownership, The Freidkin Group.

In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our Men’s, Women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and continue to compete at the highest level of the game.

About the opportunity: A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our Men’s First Team Player Support Department as a First Team Player Support Assistant.

Reporting to the Head of First Team Player Support, you will be responsible for providing professional support across the department, ensuring all day-to-day requirements are completed, which can include:

  1. Assist the Head of First Team Player Support with providing personal support to players with day-to-day tasks, including relocation assistance, accommodation arrangements, and family support, and attend any appointments as necessary.
  2. Help coordinate travel and transportation arrangements for players, including domestic and international travel.
  3. Provide general administrative support to the First Team Player Support department, including scheduling appointments, data entry, and managing communications.
  4. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of player welfare-related issues, providing reports to the Head of First Team Player Support.
  5. Maintain a database of relevant contacts and service providers (e.g., vehicle providers, accommodation agents, relocation services).
  6. Attend and provide support across all First Team home fixtures.

You will contribute towards the efficient and effective functioning of the department, influencing administrative processes and ensuring a best-in-class service.

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for a professional, experienced assistant who has excellent administration and communication skills, both written and verbal, who places high value on attention to detail.

You must be comfortable working with a wide variety of demands and be flexible enough to support our elite players across competitive fixtures.

We need someone who possesses the ability to work discreetly under pressure, and is a passionate, energised team player who embraces opportunities to collaborate with a broader diverse team.

It would be advantageous if the successful candidate spoke a foreign language (French, Spanish, and Portuguese are preferred).

The role is a 12-month Fixed-Term opportunity and will be based at Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood), however there is expected frequent travel involved within the post, working 35 hours per week plus matchdays.

The closing date of this advert is Wednesday 23rd April 2025.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a substantial amount of applications.
