Job description

Opticore IT is currently searching for a Platform Service Engineer to join one of our Hospitality clients in the Strategic Network Programme. This is a contract opportunity working Inside IR35 and will require two days on site in Dunstable.

Opticore IT is a rapidly expanding specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

The Platform Services Engineer will be responsible for the continued management and support of the Outlet Infrastructure, including building and configuring outlet devices (server, EUC and customer-facing), configuration management, application packaging, deployment and device/application lifecycle management.

What you'll be doing:
  • Be a subject matter expert for outlet Infrastructure
  • Be a lead engineer within the Strategic Network Programme, assisting with the migrations and support of the 3rd party on-site engineers
  • Manage the configuration and life cycle management of outlet infrastructure, ensuring that the systems remain compliant and adhere to our security policies and standards
  • Ongoing administration of key services, Active Directory, Group Policy and InTune
  • Manage and maintain outlet applications, ensuring they are updated in accordance with Vendor recommendations
  • Asset and license management
  • Maintain the Platform Services ticket queues, ensuring that SLA’s are met in accordance with the Incident, Major Incident and Problem Management processes
  • Manage third party Vendors to ensure that they continue to provide a consistent level of service, with a focus on ensuring we drive value for money
  • Ensure that all platforms remain performant in line with business requirements and have sufficient capacity to deliver the underlying service now and for the future
  • Ensure our environments are sufficiently backed up, ensure that adequate disaster recovery tests and failovers are performed in line with the business RPO and RTO
  • Highlight opportunities to improve/evolve technology platforms to benefit the business
  • Assist with testing and validation of changes and/or deployments where necessary
  • Provide 3rd line support to major incidents
  • Contribute to and maintain the Technology Services documentation repository, ensuring oversight of supplier documentation where required
What you'll bring:
  • SCCM/InTune and EUC build processes, including application / OS lifecycle management and security patching
  • SCCM/InTune application packaging and testing
  • EPOS platform experience, supporting, patching and ongoing support of bespoke applications
  • Knowledge of the latest industry trends / standards / tools / technologies for EUC devices
  • Demonstrable, strong working knowledge of ITIL Service Management framework and process areas
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management/executives
  • Incident Management and escalation processes
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Proven track record of delivery within a fast paced, energised and customer centric organisation
  • 5+ years of IT EPOS/EUC experience
