PLATFORM INTEGRATION SPECIALIST – OBSERVABILITY

TEAM

The ITSO (IT Services and Airline Operations) organisation manages and is accountable for the rapid delivery of the trustworthy, scalable, and efficient IT infrastructure services needed to support the technology critical for easyJet’s future growth plans and ambitions.

I&O Platforms are part of the ITSO organisation and form the backbone of easyJet's technology capabilities. They underpin nearly everything we do at easyJet. These platforms consist of:

  1. Observability Platform – monitor end-to-end IT infrastructure, network, and application services.
  2. Hosting Platform – provide application teams with technology environments (e.g., server, database, etc.) required to build and run IT solutions.
  3. Connectivity Platform – connect devices to our IT services and to the internet.
  4. Identity and Access Platform – provide employees with simple and secured access to IT services.
  5. IT Common Tools Platform – provide IT leaders and teams tools to work efficiently (e.g., development and testing environments, etc.).

Each Platform is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of business outcomes and the Platform teams are expected to demonstrate a proactive work mindset in addressing easyJet’s priorities.

JOB PURPOSE

The Platform Integration Specialist is responsible for the effective execution of the service integration strategy and processes within the Observability Platform team, enabling trust, velocity, scalability, and efficiency of the platform services.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Platform Integration Specialist is responsible for delivering the service integration services within their own Platform, overseeing the execution of standardised IT service management processes (ITSM), tools, and frameworks within their Platform (including Supplier teams) and ensuring consistency of service integration practices with other Platforms and Products.

Primarily reporting to the Platform Lead for Observability, this role uses the service integration team assets (e.g. process execution playbooks, training materials, governance frameworks, KPIs dashboards, etc.) to deploy the following key processes (in close collaboration with the Supplier team) and ensure their smooth execution:

  1. Service Integration Management: Oversee IT service management processes across platforms. Key areas include: Incident & Major Management, Problem Management, Service Continuity, Design, and Transition, Change and Capacity Management, Service Catalogue and Knowledge Management & Configuration Management.
  2. Risk & Compliance Management: Manage asset, patch compliance, and disaster recovery planning to ensure platform integrity and compliance. Align service integration strategies with platform objectives. Assess service delivery issues and ensure smooth service transitions.
  3. Value & Performance Management: Monitor and enhance the value delivered by platform processes, supported by the Value and Performance team. Collaborate with the Service Integration Lead and the Community of Practice to drive process improvements and feedback implementation.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

  1. Extensive experience within an IT department providing cross-functional IT management capabilities.
  2. Experience in IT governance, including experience in policy definition and process improvements within a large or complex organisation.
  3. Understanding of IT systems, architectures, and technologies to assess service components and collaborate with technical teams.
  4. Understanding and experience in IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  5. Experience in maximising effectiveness of offshore resource models and experience in managing and delivering through third-party suppliers, focusing on business outcomes and employee experience.
  6. Planning & orchestration skills: planning across product and platform teams, roadmap creation, scheduling.
  7. Experience ensuring quality management incl. quality assurance, risk management and process improvement methodologies.
  8. Data-savvy: strong data analysis skills.
  9. Proven stakeholder needs’ analysis and stakeholder communication and management skills.
  10. Effective influencing and negotiation skills in complex environments where resources required for success may not be in direct control of this role.
