Plasterer (Damp & Mould Team)

Salary: £17.50 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role:

North Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced Plasterer to join our Damp & Mould Team. In this role, you will be responsible for tackling damp and mould issues across council properties, carrying out full skims, dot and dab, and general plastering works to a high standard. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real difference in maintaining and improving homes for residents in North Tyneside.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out full skim plastering to rectify damp and mould issues.
2. Perform dot and dab work, ensuring high-quality finishes.
3. Assess and repair affected walls and surfaces efficiently.
4. Work independently or as part of a team to complete scheduled works.
5. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

1. NVQ Level 2 in Plastering (or equivalent qualification).
2. Full UK Driving Licence (van provided).
3. Asbestos Awareness Certificate (valid and up to date).
4. Manual Handling Training Certificate.
5. Experience in plastering, damp-proofing, and remedial works.
6. Ability to work professionally in occupied and void properties.
7. CSCS (ideal but not essential).
