Plant Waste Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Waste Engineer in the Cumbria area.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide Technical Support: Work closely with the Solid & Sludge waste teams and plant-facing technical support teams as directed by the Solids/Sludge Technical Managers.
2. Accelerate High Hazard Risk Reduction: Deliver strategy and technical solutions against key program risks and assumptions in LP.
3. Control Documents and Reporting: Offer technical input to controlling documents, interpret data, and produce technical reports.
4. Conduct Trials: Participate in on- and off-plant trials.
5. Collaborate with Disciplines: Interact with other disciplines and external consultants.

Role Requirements

Required:

1. Qualifications: STEM subject. Degree qualification is not necessary.
2. Certifications: P4 pass holder and SC clearance.
3. Experience: Previous experience working on Sellafield (SL) plants/systems.
4. Location: Based in Cumbria, with availability to attend Sellafield Site/Plant/Cumbria Office when required.

Desirable:

1. Experience: Monitored worker with experience in Legacy Ponds/Retrievals.
2. Skills: Ability to support technical trials/operations in the active area.

This role focuses on providing strategic and technical support to accelerate high hazard risk reduction in Legacy Ponds and associated facilities. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience, certifications, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and consultants.
