Plant Operator

MPI are currently recruiting for a Plant Operator for our client based in Cranfield.

This is a 6-month initial contract with the option to extend and will begin in March.

Shift patterns: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am (30 mins to 1 hour overlap between each shift).

Night shift premium rate applies.

Hours per week are likely variable depending on activities on site. Expected a minimum of 3-4 shifts a week.

Duties:

1. Operate the pilot plant using a control system (SCADA).
2. Monitor the plant during operation, start-up, and shut down, following the operating procedures.
3. Coordinate and direct control room operations.
4. Monitor and control process parameters.
5. Assist Shift Team Leader with plant operation, monitoring, and first-line fault diagnosis.
6. Assist with maintenance tasks on site.

Qualifications:

1. Previous plant experience.
2. Mechanical background preferred, but other engineering backgrounds (chemical, process, electrical, automotive, aeronautic) are also acceptable.
3. Blue CSCS/Skill card (minimum).
4. Gold CSCS/Skill card preferred.
5. First aid qualification is preferred.
