Plant Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing vehicles and machinery in the Falkland Islands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of mechanical tasks using hand and power tools, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in vehicles and machinery
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working condition
3. Use welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to repair parts
4. Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems
5. Operate power tools and hand tools effectively
6. Assemble and disassemble machinery for maintenance or repair
7. Utilise forklifts to move heavy equipment safely

Experience:

1. Proven experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance
2. Proficiency in welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
3. Ability to read and understand schematics for electrical systems
4. Competence in using both power tools and hand tools effectively
5. Experience with forklift operation is advantageous
6. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
7. Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
