Job description

Job Title: Plant Manager
Location: Merseyside (WA10)
Salary: 65K - 80K (DOE) + Bonus + Car
Shifts: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:30hrs
Role: Permanent

Our client is a leading global Industrial Gases and Engineering company, delivering high quality, gas processing solutions for a variety of industries, including healthcare, chemical, manufacturing and food & beverage.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Plant Manager to work out of their main Merseyside site, with regular visits to local satellite sites.
You will be supporting all aspects of running the industrial gas production plant, ensuring operations run efficiently and safely.

As the Plant Manager your duties will be;

  • Manage the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the main site and three other satellite gas production plants.
  • Take ownership of the sites performance and safety while measuring success against key business goals.
  • Manage budgets, capital expenditures, and cost control initiatives.
  • Champion safety and sustainability by inspiring high standards in SHEQ leadership, ensuring compliance with regulations, and embedding best practices.
  • Encourage the teams by supporting and developing them to thrive, ensuring they are equipped and skilled to succeed.
  • Collaborate with others, as you will build relationships with their remote operation centre, engineering and account management teams, as well as third party providers.


The successful Plant Manager will have the following skills;

  • Must have a degree in Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Must have previous solid work experience within the Chemical/Gas or Processing industry.
  • Previous experience within a Management role would be ideal, however this role would also be suitable for someone hungry to take the next step in their career.
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations would be advantageous.
  • Must have strong SHEQ knowledge/experience. IOSH/NEBOSH certification would be ideal.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential, with the ability to influence and empower teams.
