Job description

We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining equipment safety and functionality, with a focus on LOLER inspections, forklift skip repairs, and various non-mechanical equipment maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Onsite LOLER Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections on all types of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER procedures and compliance standards.
  2. Onsite Repairs: Diagnose and perform repairs on equipment and other plant assets, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  3. Weld Repairs: Carry out welding repairs—primarily on tipping skips—including coded welding on critical components such as lifting eyes.
  4. Skip Inspections: Perform inspections in line with the tipping skip checklist, and complete necessary repairs as identified.
  5. Onsite Training: Deliver training sessions to site operatives on the safe and efficient use of both mechanical and non-mechanical equipment.
  6. Paperwork: Complete detailed reports and inspection checklists for all tasks, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  7. Stock Management: Maintain and manage van stock, monitor inventory levels, and request resupplies as needed to support ongoing maintenance tasks.
  8. General Maintenance: Carry out other general repair and maintenance tasks on non-mechanical plant equipment as required.
Requirements:
  1. LOLER qualification (essential).
  2. Valid CSCS card (essential).
  3. Proven experience in plant maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  4. Strong welding skills; coded welding experience preferred.
  5. Ability to deliver training sessions confidently and clearly.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  7. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel within the designated area.
