We are currently recruiting for a Minerals and Waste Policy Planner on a 12-month fixed-term basis to join our team and make a difference for the better. If you feel you want to help implement and plan for development in a prosperous economy whilst respecting the Essex Environment, then read on.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation, development and policy formulation of the minerals and waste development plan framework, including playing an important part in the review of the Minerals Local Plan. The successful candidate will hold responsibility for managing their own workload and seeking development opportunities and contributing to the delivery of agreed priorities.
You'll have an advantage if you have a proven record of working in the planning policy or development management disciplines and have knowledge of the minerals and waste sector, but all candidates with related experience and qualifications will be considered.
Without question you'll have excellent communication, time management and written skills and be highly adept at working under pressure to deadlines in a team environment. You'll be able to assimilate and understand information rapidly, have good IT skills and be willing to represent the authority to the highest professional standard. You'll be empowered to challenge processes and procedures to help improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team as well as offered outstanding career development opportunities in a first-class authority.
