Planning Partner

About the role:

The planning team are the guardians of creating industry-leading, unrivalled work at Wavemaker. We are central conduits to all specialists, striving to push boundaries and have a positive impact on consumers and brands.

Wavemaker UK is looking for a Planning Partner to join our growing planning team, to lead the planning community at Wavemaker and drive excellence in our unrivalled planning work.

In this role, you will:

Planning Team Leadership:
  1. Lead and set the direction of the Planning team with the support and leadership of the Head of Planning.
  2. Have a cross-agency discipline role ensuring you are championing the Planning team across the agency.
  3. Build an external presence on behalf of the Wavemaker Planning team including panels and with other clients.
Media Planning Craft:
  1. Own the Wavemaker Provocative Planning Philosophy, ensuring it is cascaded and used across the whole agency.
  2. Lead the planning output across multiple clients and across the agency, ensuring agency planning outputs are consistent and can create unrivalled work.
  3. Develop thought leadership, landscape and market updates that can be applied across multiple clients, having a clear overview and Wavemaker perspective to them.
  4. Lead developing and cascading training/upskilling across the agency.
  5. Have a heavy presence with clients to elevate key planning stages/critical projects.
  6. Drive new solutions and methods within planning responses, including innovation and tech solutions that will push the industry and discipline forward.

  1. Practice Area Knowledge: Expert in industry as well as tools and technology, demonstrating collaborative relationships outside of comms planning and shaping the direction of the agency.
  2. Problem Solving: Expert in enabling others to see strategic problems in new ways and generating solutions for complex organizational problems.
  3. Stakeholder Relationships: Advanced in anticipating and meeting client and agency needs, demonstrating expert knowledge of the client’s industry.
  4. Effective Communication: Expert in delivering high-impact communications that simplify complex information.
  5. Compelling Storytelling: Expert in developing communications strategies that engage internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Ideas Creation: Expert in developing strategies for new technologies and innovations.
  7. Comms Planning: Expert in leading agency and industry thinking on best practices in comms planning.
