Planning Lawyer – East Herts District Council

Salary: Total remuneration up to £62,169 per annum!

£48,460 - £58,669 per annum, plus £3,500 market supplement

Location: Remote working!

Once monthly in-person attendance required for Planning Committees

About the Role

As the council’s sole Planning Lawyer, you will:

  • Deliver expert legal advice on complex planning matters, including Section 106 agreements, enforcement actions, and public inquiries.
  • Support high-profile projects that will define the future of East Hertfordshire’s communities.
  • Advise and guide elected members and officers, with a key role in Planning Committees.
  • Develop innovative solutions to the legal challenges of a dynamic and busy planning authority.

About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A qualification as a solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with a valid practising certificate.

  • Confidence and clarity in advising elected members and officers and managing Planning Committees.
