Vox Consultants are hiring for a Planning and Highways Lawyer for a Local Authority based in Northamptonshire. Please note, this is a Contract opportunity and only apply if you have the Right to Work in the UK and have relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing legal counsel to the council and its departments on planning and highway matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
2. Drafting legal agreements, preparing and reviewing agreements like Section 106 agreements (developer contributions) and Section 278 agreements (highway improvements), ensuring they align with council policies and objectives.
3. Assisting with planning applications, advising on the legal side and addressing any potential challenges.
4. Representing the Council in public inquiries, hearings, and appeals relating to planning and highways matters.
5. Advising on enforcement of planning conditions and highway regulations.

Essentials:

1. Law Degree is essential.
2. Completion of LPC or the Bar Training Course is required for the UK.
3. Admission as a solicitor or barrister is necessary.
4. Relevant work experience previously in the planning/highways team for a Local Authority.
5. Right to work in the UK and don’t require a Visa Sponsorship.
