Job description

A large Civils and Groundworks contractor are looking for a permanent Planner / Programmer to join their growing team in Bristol.

Your new role
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating project programmes, ensuring timely delivery and efficient resource allocation. This role involves working closely with both office-based and site-based staff, contractors, and suppliers to ensure consistency and alignment across all phases of Civils / Groundworks projects.

  • Develop, maintain, and review project programmes at both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
  • Generate progress reports and update project schedules and forecasts using software like Microsoft Project or Asta.
  • Utilise project management tools to effectively plan and manage project timeframes.
  • Collaborate with Estimators to determine the resources needed for projects.
  • Meet with contractors and suppliers to discuss and review programme-related issues.
  • Coordinate between office and site teams to ensure consistency in programmes and sequencing.
  • Develop procurement and design programmes that align with agreed construction timelines.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Approximately 5 years of planning experience.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving licence.
