Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the operational team at Station Hill as a Placemaking and Events Manager.

Our team is at the heart of the development. We are looking to recruit an experienced Placemaking and Events Manager with experience in producing footfall driving events in a large scheme, with a passion for place, to ultimately join us in our mission to create communities with soul.

Using our hospitality and BTR background, we are building a new breed of estate management, a service that is built from the ground up to focus on visitor experience, community, and placemaking. Our reputation for operating large scale mixed-use estates, with a focus on placemaking, has earned us the 2022 Property Week Placemaking award. We believe focusing on the end user drives real value for our clients. Having successfully mobilised the BTR component, we are now turning to Station Hill, one of our most exciting and largest schemes.

Comprising of 600 BTR apartments, 275,000 sqft of Grade A multi-let offices (phase 1) with future expansion of a further 325,000 sqft (phase 2), as well as over 2 acres of high-quality public realm – Station Hill is transformational. (https://www.stationhill.co.uk/).

This role is a career-defining opportunity to activate a brand-new public realm, support commercial operators, and build a new community with soul in the heart of Reading.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creating and promoting a calendar of footfall driving events and activations.
  2. Support incoming and in situ commercial tenants through Station Hill’s marketing channels and events calendar.
  3. Creating an ‘always on’ Station Hill marketing strategy to drive public footfall.
  4. Building relationships and working collaboratively with local partners to execute community-centric campaigns.
  5. Fostering strong relationships with the local community, businesses, and stakeholders.

If you’re ready to be our next Native, you’ll probably:

  1. Have extensive experience developing and implementing exciting placemaking and events strategies and be able to oversee the whole process.
  2. Be excellent at presenting to clients and confident when working with high-level business strategy.
  3. Have consumer-lead experience.
  4. Have strong relationship-building and leadership skills.
  5. Have a solid understanding of brand communication.
  6. Have experience implementing exciting consumer brand and digital campaigns.
  7. Monitor the performance of placemaking and events activities and update the strategy as necessary.
  8. Have a solid understanding of placemaking and destination creation.
  9. Have experience gathering insights and delivering reports.
  10. Have project management experience and strong organisational skills.
  11. Be ambitious and keen to develop your career in a varied role.
  12. Be personable, confident, and a team player.
  13. Be keen to push the boundaries with creative thinking and innovative campaigns.
  14. Be comfortable and experienced working within fast-paced environments and meeting deadlines.
  15. Be a strong copywriter and communicator.
  16. Hold an IOSH or NEBOSH Qualification.
