What is the role?

This role falls within our Education focus and would lead our inspiring Premier League Primary Stars project. This project aims to offer positive engagement for primary aged children, with the aim of using the appeal of football to help children be active and develop essential life skills by delivering targeted interventions within a primary school setting.

What will you be doing?

Your role as a Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator is to manage the delivery of the project across Southampton leading a detailed monitoring and evaluation programme that meets the requirements of the funding partners, to provide line management to the inspiring officers delivering the sessions, and develop a detailed plan for coaching and advising Primary School teachers on the delivery of School Sport and PE. Your desk is located at St Mary’s Stadium, in the city centre but don’t worry you won’t be stuck behind a desk all the time, you’ll be required to visit our local schools to ensure the project is running smoothly.

You’ll be provided with our Saints Foundation branded uniform, and the opportunity to make a positive input to our local community.

Essential Experience:

  • A strong knowledge of community engagement programmes specifically tailored to the provision of community activities & Primary Schools.
  • Ability to engage with hard to reach groups.
  • Have a good understanding of the schools in Southampton and be able to maintain strong partnerships with main project stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and develop innovative and engaging PE, PSHE, Literacy and Numeracy curriculums.
  • Considerable experience in a Primary School setting.
