ATA are exclusively working with a leading heavy industrial engineering company based in Derbyshire, UK. Established in 1954, it has built a global reputation for delivering engineering excellence across various industrial sectors. The company specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing bespoke steel fabrications, bulk material handling systems, and innovative custom technologies aimed at minimizing operational downtime, increasing efficiency, and optimizing process and plant performance.

They are seeking a skilled Piping Design Engineer specializing in piping design to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for piping systems used in various industrial applications. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail to ensure all designs meet industry standards and client specifications.

The Role:

As a Piping Design Engineer, you will be working closely with the projects team on various water-related projects worth millions of pounds, playing an integral part in the success of the projects by liaising with clients and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and design piping systems for wastewater treatment plants and related infrastructure.
2. Prepare detailed layout plans and schematics using CAD software.
3. Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to ensure accurate representation of piping systems.
4. Create detailed bills of materials for piping systems.
5. Assess potential safety and functionality risks in piping designs.
6. Collaborate with other engineers, drafters, and designers to optimize piping designs.
7. Review and update existing piping systems to improve efficiency or comply with new regulations.
8. Document the design process and maintain records for future reference and troubleshooting.
9. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all designs and modifications.

The Candidate:

To be successful in your application for the Piping Design Engineer role you will need:

1. Proven work experience as a Piping Design Engineer or similar role in the wastewater industry.
2. Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound judgment calls.
5. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
