Are you ready to put your welding expertise into shaping the future of gas transmission at National Gas? If so, we’re looking for a co-worker like you!
We are searching for a Coded Pipeline Welder to join our field team and deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers across the UK and beyond.
You will work closely within NGS Operations together with Pipeline Inspectors to plan and execute pipeline jobs, ensuring all necessary preparation and authorisation are in place.
Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of gas transmission and distribution networks and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate experience in pipe fitting.
This role will help protect and maintain the integrity of our pipelines infrastructure by ensuring high-quality welding, precise fabrication, and strict adherence to safety standards.
You will be skilled in SMAW(MMA), GTAW(TIG), and ideally MIG/MAG welding. If you’ve worked with carbon and stainless-steel pipe and plate, and can meet 100% NTD standards, we’d love to hear from you. To be considered, you should be able to pass the 5G (PF/PG Dolly Mix) WQT.
While MIG/MAG welding and stainless-steel experience are nice to have, they’re not deal-breakers. We’re more focused on finding someone with a passion for welding and a commitment to doing the right job.
Your duties will include using a variety of welding processes to join and repair pipes/other metallic components, cutting, straightening, reshaping components, and construction supports such as frames. You’ll also be involved in hot-tapping, welding on live pipelines (Hot Tap Tees, weld’o’falnges, Tread’o’lets, etc.), and ensuring all your equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.
If this sounds like you, we’d be excited to have you on our team!
