  • Time served Pipefitter/Fabricator with a recognised Modern Apprenticeship.

Job description

MacTaggart Scott is looking to recruit an experienced Pipefitter/Fabricator to join the Welding department. The main responsibilities for this role are to be responsible for cutting, preparing, match-boring and setting up of pipework and other fabrications in preparation of being welded in accordance with drawing and project specification.

You will be required to:

  • Interpret drawing with regards dimensional quality acceptance standard
  • Prepare all plate, pipe and associated fittings in accordance with technical drawing and approved weld procedure
  • Provide support to welder, positioning hardware to achieve technical drawing required tolerances and relevant weld procedure
  • Monitor and document any rework/repairs for compliance to procedure
Requirements
  • Confidence in dealing with internal customers and departments
  • Have a methodical and organised work ethic to prioritise work, whilst setting and meeting deadlines on a weekly basis
  • Have the ability to work both on their own and as part of a team
  • Experience in a similar role within a heavy fabrication industry
  • Time served Pipefitter/Fabricator with a recognised Modern Apprenticeship
