Job description

Job title: Pipefitter

Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun – Based on site and must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow.

Salary: £37,318.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable)

Requirements: Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application

What you’ll be doing:

  • Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel and stainless steel)
  • Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes as well as installation of pipework
  • Installing utilities aboard ship i.e. sinks, showers, and toilets

Your skills and experiences:

  • Modern Apprenticeship certificate also known as Trade Papers (you will be required to provide papers)
  • Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture and installation, and use of associated equipment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH risks awareness
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and/or at height
  • Safety certification i.e. SHE Induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc.
  • Background in a major construction / manufacturing environment
