Physiotherapist - Southampton - Community (Elderly/Neuro)

Southampton, United Kingdom | Posted on 25/03/2025

Medella Home Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy

We specialise in home-based physiotherapy and occupational therapy for the elderly across Hampshire and Dorset. In many cases, the time when you most need a physiotherapist or occupational therapist is a time when you are not easily mobile. For many, traveling to a physio clinic isn’t possible. That is why we started Medella Home Physio & OT. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists come to see you in your own home so that you don’t need to travel anywhere. We believe that in many cases, particularly in respect of elderly patients, you get the most out of physiotherapy and occupational therapy when it is done in your own environment.

We feel there is a specific need for a mobile/home private physiotherapy and occupational therapy service in the Ringwood/Bournemouth/Christchurch/New Forest area given that it holds the highest proportion of pensioners in the country. Getting out and about in older age can sometimes be difficult so we want to take the hassle out of travel, waiting times and parking. We also believe that by providing physiotherapy and occupational therapy in your own home, we can help you improve confidence and achieve maximum independence much quicker.

Our philosophy is based on promoting and enabling a better quality of life, particularly in older age, although not specific to it. Our aim is to work with our clients to create a truly personalised assessment and treatment to achieve your goals. We take a holistic approach in our treatment, ensuring that the treatment and advice we provide is able to fit in with your lifestyle. We are more than happy to work with your family or carers so that they can help you achieve your goals.

We aim to empower our clients to take an active part in their treatment to help them achieve their goals. You need to be motivated to get better, and where motivation is a problem, we will do our best to help you.

Any physiotherapist who visits you will be a member of the ‘Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’ and registered with the ‘Health Professions Council’. They will also belong to the specialist interest group, AGILE.
