Requirements:

1. Valid and active Physical Therapy State license.
2. CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (with AED).

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, reviewing medical histories and collaborating with healthcare colleagues to understand patient needs.
2. Develop tailored treatment plans based on assessments, establishing specific goals for rehabilitation or recovery.
3. Design and implement customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
4. Use hands-on techniques for mobility enhancement and pain relief, including joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and manual stretching.
5. Apply modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold therapy to ease pain, reduce inflammation, and aid tissue healing.
6. Provide guidance on the use of assistive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to improve mobility.
7. Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and injury prevention related to body mechanics and ergonomics.
8. Develop pain management strategies, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques for pain reduction.
9. Assist patients in regaining independence after surgery, injury, or illness to enhance their quality of life.
10. Continuously assess and document patient progress toward rehabilitation goals, adapting treatment plans as needed.
11. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and OTs, to optimize patient care.
12. Provide personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
13. Keep accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, progress notes, and changes in the patient's condition.
14. Follow ethical and legal standards in patient care, including respecting confidentiality and obtaining informed consent.
15. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to meet the diverse backgrounds and needs of patients.
