Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a teacher of PE to join our secondary school in Havant!

The school:

This secondary school in Havant is known for its commitment to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics. The school offers a wide range of opportunities for students to develop their skills and interests and boasts an extensive variety of clubs and activities, including a popular sports ambassador program that allows students to work with an Olympic athlete. The school provides a supportive and enriching environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. The school was graded ‘Good’ in all areas during Ofsted’s most recent visit and is easily accessible on public transport.

The role:

The school requires a teacher of PE to join the department as soon as possible, on a full-time basis until July 2025; however, this could become a permanent role for the right educator. The appointed teacher would be required to teach PE across KS3 and KS4, which would also include planning and marking.

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with an enjoyment of working with young people.
  • Have effective classroom management and an ability to demonstrate resilience in working with challenging behaviour.
  • Have effective time management; able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Be an excellent team player, genuinely committed to working in partnership with others.
  • Be an excellent communicator to a variety of audiences with good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Be a reflective practitioner committed to developing own teaching and learning strategies.
