About

This is a components manufacturing business with operations globally providing parts and complete solutions to the aircraft, automotive, construction, electronics and medical sectors.

Purpose of the Role

The organisation is looking to develop a number of client facing planning tools to work as a specifier tool for various parts of the business including roofing solutions. These solutions will be used globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of international digital business application tools
• Project delivery to ensure effective and timely delivery of applications
• Maintain and improve existing and future in-house web / software developments
• First line application support for UK and international developed applications

Role Specific Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of online application tools which are both external and internal facing
• Learn and understand the architecture of our defined technical ecommerce environment
• Work with nominated third parties to manage development support and delivery of defined scope of works
• Examine, learn and understand our current systems, web / software developments
• Work internally with colleagues and existing 3rd parties to improve data accuracy, processes and reporting
• Maintain business continuity of our in-house web / software developments
• Work with end-users to discuss and understand scope of requirements to ensure the business requirements are fully supported
• Provide end user training and support for our in-house web / software developments
• Regularly review, report and maintain security and data integrity of our web / software developments
• Analytical reporting using various tools

Skills

Essential

• Fluent PHP developer
• MySQL and/or SQL database skills required
• Knowledge of these additional languages desirable – HTML5 / CSS / Javascript / Jquery
• Agile working methodology experience
• Commercial developer experience
• Must enjoy the challenge of learning and implementing new skills and techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable and part of a team
