Full Time, (37 hours per week)

£31,691 (dependent upon experience) per annum plus benefits

Serco have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Photographer/Videographer to join our team based at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon. The Photographer/Videographer will provide a full photographic still and video service to the Defence Academy, taking their creative lead from the AV and Photographic Team Leader.

70% of your duties will be Photography and 30% will be Videography.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Taking bookings directly from customers, the Team Leader, or the TopDesk system.
  • Liaison with customers to ensure suitability of venues, and with porterage staff to organise staging, movement of chairs, etc. for group photography.
  • Photography of formal or informal groups both indoors and outdoors; on location; studio photography; mugshots of student intakes; passport and visa photography; coverage of VIP visits and other key events; general photography and any other photographic tasks as requested.
  • Prompt turnaround and delivery of images/videos for use on Social Media, Comms, or Defence Academy intranet.
  • Use of innovative photographic equipment as provided (e.g., a 360-degree camera).
  • Use of Adobe Photoshop to fully post-process images as necessary.
  • Meta-tagging of all images/videos for ease of search/retrieval using established methods and procedures agreed with the Team Leader.
  • Video filming and editing using Adobe Premier Pro for use onsite/offsite and/or on MOD social media.
  • Support the Video Editor/Videographer in provision of a full video production/post-production service.
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites/contracts to work, attend meetings, take briefs, etc.

Photographic/video work will be required outside contracted support hours including occasional weekends, for which overtime will be paid.

What you'll need to do the job:

  • City & Guilds, related degree, and/or substantial experience evidenced by a strong portfolio of both photographic and video work.
  • Practical experience of photographic lighting in studio and on location using flash, portable LED lighting, umbrellas, and soft boxes.
  • Creative approach to photographic composition and ability to interpret briefs.
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Premier Pro.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Passionate about providing excellent product quality and customer service.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage with customers at all levels.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • You will need to achieve BPSS clearance prior to appointment; Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
