Job description

Part time Phlebotomist / Healthcare Assistant: 16 - 20 hours per week.

Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venipuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP or Practice Nurse, as well as performing blood pressure checks and other HCA related duties.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Phlebotomy: Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with training and procedures - Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
  2. ECG recording.
  3. Diabetic Foot Checks.
  4. Urinalysis.
  5. Basic Dressings.
  6. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording.
  7. Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
  8. Assisting in the assessment of health and well-being.
  9. Provide lifestyle advice.
  10. Weight monitoring.
  11. Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms.
  12. Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post.

About us

We are a busy small practice and now seeking a Health Care Assistant trained in Phlebotomy to start as soon as possible. As a Health Care Assistant, you will work with the practice team to meet the needs of our patient population and support the delivery of our services.

Approximately 5400 patients.

Friendly 2 partner practice with 2 nurses and excellent admin support.

Purpose-built premises in Normanton.

Car parking available.

Clinical system: System 1.
