PhD Research Scientist - Biotechnology required on a permanent basis in Manchester. Requiring a PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry (or similar), with an understanding of cell cultivation for producing metabolites, and knowledge of metabolic pathways and enzymes. An interest in personal care products and markets is desirable. Knowledge and/or experience of extraction techniques from natural sources is also desirable.

SRG are working with a highly innovative company who have been creating speciality products for a range of markets, including personal care and cosmetics, for over 30 years. With a focus on developing their natural product development team, they are now seeking a PhD Research Scientist to support in developing natural speciality ingredients from both microbiological and plant sources to launch into the personal care market, specifically hair care. This is an exciting new role, in a growing and developing team, with ideal candidates having recently completed a PhD in Biology, Biotechnology or Biochemistry (or similar), with knowledge of cell cultivation for producing metabolites, and knowledge of metabolic pathways and enzymes. This is an excellent opportunity to develop new products and have a big impact within the company. Candidates with an MSc and proven industrial experience in a research role are also encouraged to apply.
