We’re hiring! A fully funded PhD opportunity at the University of Leeds is available on “Exploring the Socio-Ecological Potentials of Essential Provisioning Systems in OECD Nations.”

Research Question 1: How does the mitigation potential of collective provisioning systems in emissions and resource use in OECD nations compare to individualised, privatised, or market-driven systems across essential sectors?

Research Question 2: Which design and governance principles enable collective provisioning systems to minimise resource use and emissions while ensuring inclusive, adequate need satisfaction, and how can these principles inform policy and practice?

The project will be co-supervised by Richard Bärnthaler, Milena Büchs, and Diana Ivanova, and includes a Research in Practice placement at the New Economics Foundation (NEF), mentored by Anna Coote. This placement offers hands-on experience in think tank work and skills in strategic policy communication.
