We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Featherstone, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Featherstone is a male prison with a population of 678 males, this is a training prison with a layout of 7 wings.

You will be based in a team of 4 consisting of Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech and Pharmacy Assistants, the pharmacy hatches are based in the central and on the wings.

Hours
This role is a permanent 37.5 hours per week covering shifts Monday - Sunday:

Monday - Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm

Weekends - 8.30am - 5.30pm

Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary between £27,247.00 - £32,346.00 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

What we'll look for in you

We are looking for caring, compassionate but also driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for fair and inclusive healthcare access for all.
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
