Band 2 - Salary Range £24,647 - £26,763 per annum (pro rata)
Distant Island Allowance of £2,380 per annum (pro rata)
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our fabulous pharmacy team as a pharmacy support worker (PSW). The post holder will work alongside Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists to ensure that medicines are provided safely and efficiently within the hospital, vaccination centre, and other NHS sites.
The PSW fulfils a vital role within the dispensary receiving and distributing medications, stock management, dispensing of medicines, vaccine service, and top-up service to wards and departments within the hospital. Other general duties include date checking, cleaning, and administrative work including filing.
This post requires a minimum of 3 standard grades or equivalent in English, Mathematics, and at least one other subject. Previous experience is not necessary as training will be provided. This role requires the post holder to work towards a vocational training programme: SVQ in Pharmacy Services (SCQF Level 6). Time during work will be provided for this training.
We require someone 5 days per week to cover over the middle of the day, so this may suit someone looking for work during school hours.
This contract is for a fixed term of one year. The reason for the fixed-term contract is maternity cover. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss it with your line manager before submitting an application.
