You will be working in a team of seasoned negotiators in the specialist field of prescription medicines, building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure dispensing profit by maximising every opportunity available.

The role is full-time & office-based at the Boots Support Office in Weybridge.

The Pharmacy Commercial Partnerships team are responsible for the management of the pharmaceutical category through effective and extensive internal and external stakeholder management. We work collaboratively with other functions within Boots and Walgreens Boots Alliance and wholesalers to ensure maximum value attainment from prescription product procurement and supplier relationships and with pharma to provide solutions across the product lifecycle from launch to established brands that are mutually beneficial, building our relationships and brand value within the pharmaceutical industry.

This role reports to the Head of Ethical Commercial Development to support, via analysis and process governance, the realisation of pharmacy buying profit across all dispensing and pharmacy services and negotiation of commercial agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers for Boots private & NHS services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for multifaceted and cross-functional operational activities to ensure commercial agreements are implemented successfully across the Boots pharmacy estate, often consulting as commercial stakeholder in projects transforming supply chain and dispensing practices.
• Leads procurement of dispensing category products for Boots private & NHS services.
• Contributes to realisation of annual pharmacy buying profit and supplier funding.
• Supports commercial analysis and continual review of commercial operational processes, driving efficiency.
• Supports development & delivery of Net Zero ambition for pharmacy medicines.

What you'll need to have

• Formal degree level qualification preferably in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical science related subject.
• Ability to think independently, creatively and identify opportunities through analysis of trends and supplier performance.
• Self-confident and able to resolve conflicting priorities with good communication, negotiation and networking skills in an internal and external environment.
• Focused on customer service both internal and external.

It would be great if you also have

• Experience in a similar buying function.
• Detailed knowledge of the Ethical, generics, parallel imports and UK grey market would be preferential.
