We are pleased to announce an exciting development opportunity within our Offender Healthcare Directorate at HMP Swaleside.
The successful candidate will receive full funding to participate in the Buttercups Course - Pharmacy Technician Training Programme (Non-Apprenticeship Pathway), enabling progression from a Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant to a Band 5 Medicine Management Technician. We are also able to accept candidates who are already doing this course and transfer this over.
The course must be completed within two years of starting. During this period, the successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the team under the Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant JD, undertaking clinical and patient-facing responsibilities while they study.
Once the course has successfully completed, the candidate will follow the roles and responsibilities on the Band 5 Medicine Management Technician JD.

To deal with telephone inquiries from primary care and pharmacy staff at HMP Swaleside, dealing with questions about prescriptions and management of prescriptions and referring issues on to other staff if required according to local SOPs.
To communicate with other pharmacy staff within the pharmacy department to resolve issues where items requested for dispensing are out of stock and will be delayed.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
